I translate from English and Spanish into my native tongue, French. I work in the following fields:

International development

Over the years, I have built up a specialisation in international development. I have translated numerous documents for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) for a variety of causes that are important to me: democracy, environment, maternal health, children’s rights, gender equality, natural resource management.

I work on annual reports, agreements, press releases, articles, training documents, manuals or websites. I use specific UN terminology where appropriate.

Recent projects include:

  • reports on education, scientific research, children in developed countries, gender-based violence, poverty, climate change, female genital mutilation…
  • articles on climate change, climate justice, renewable energy, water shortage…
  • manuals on prison design, low vision care, programme management…
  • localisation of an NGO website
  • training materials: communication, project management, WASH…

Tourism

Having graduated in tourism and new technology in 2006, I worked in the tourism field for seven years, first in a marine fisheries centre and then at the Finistère tourist board in Brittany.

As a translator, I draw on this experience to produce texts tailored specifically for the tourism business.

With in-depth knowledge of the sector, I can work on technical documents or craft promotional copy to sell trips, accommodation or destinations.

Recent projects include:

  • a guided tour of a religious building
  • holiday let websites
  • CV and cover letter for a hotel manager specialised in revenue management
  • tourist spot newsletter
  • video tutorials for tourist industry software (online booking management)

Maritime sector (fisheries, aquaculture and marine environment)

Based in Finistère, Brittany, where the sea is part of everyday life, I have a keen interest in all things maritime. A source of employment, revenue and food for some, an amusement park for others, the ocean is a vital, fragile element.

I spent several months working at Haliotika, the discovery centre of marine fisheries in Guilvinec (Brittany) where I learned about the maritime industry in general and fisheries in particular.

An avid learner, I hone my skills and keep up with change in the industry thanks to online courses, conferences and seminars. I also keep abreast of the news in the maritime sector by reading specialist journals.

Recent projects include:

  • articles and press releases on sustainable fisheries and ocean protection
  • annual report on an NGO – fishery resource management
  • information pack for an aquaculture management plan
  • article on the movement of fishermen in India

Do you need to translate documents relating to fisheries, aquaculture or marine environment? Then get in touch! We can discuss your project and I’ll provide you with a quote that corresponds to your needs.
